A Global Torchbearer of Digital Transformation in the Sugar Industry
I recently had the opportunity to speak at a state-level conference jointly organized by the Padma Shri Dr. Vitthalrao Vikhe Patil Chair of Cooperation and the Department of Commerce, Savitribai Phule Pune University, on the theme “Economic Pathways for the Growth of the Sugar Industry.”
For me, this was not merely an honor—it was a deeply moving and unforgettable moment. Standing in the Sant Dnyaneshwar Auditorium, sharing my thoughts on how Artificial Intelligence and modern information technologies can accelerate the growth of the sugar industry, I experienced an intense emotional surge.
For a brief moment, my mind returned to the fields of Nimgaon, to memories of my uncles and relatives working tirelessly in sugarcane farms, and to my brothers who continue to enrich the land with relentless effort even today. My eyes welled up, almost without realizing it.
The cooperative movement gave economic direction to farmers’ hard work. The sugar industry carried prosperity to villages across Maharashtra. As I spoke about this industry, only one thought dominated my mind—it is now time to give something back to this land and this sector through technology.

Beyond professional associations, I share deep emotional ties with the cooperative sector. My uncle, Anandrao Gangarde Patil, served as Vice Chairman of the Jagdamba Cooperative Sugar Factory. Later, through my close association with Shridhar Gaikwad, Senior Director of Pune Peoples Cooperative Bank, and with the inspiration of Cooperative Leader Adv. Subhash Mohite, President of the Pune District Bank Association, I was appointed to the Board of Management. This gave me the privilege of working alongside stalwarts of the cooperative banking sector.
Working under the leadership of then Chairman Mr. Randive and the revered cooperative thinker Babnarao Bhegade, I became formally and deeply connected with the cooperative movement.
On that day, speaking in the sacred academic environment of the university—alongside distinguished personalities such as RBI Director Satish Marathe, former Sugar Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad, Ravindra Shinganapurkar, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Parag Kalankar, and many eminent dignitaries from across Maharashtra—I felt a profound sense of gratitude.
As the son of a farming family, strengthening the cooperative sector digitally through Vishwaguru Infotech is not merely a professional responsibility for me—it is a deeply personal and emotional commitment.
As I walked out of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Auditorium, the university anthem instinctively came back to my lips:
“Grant us the supreme blessing of knowledge,
Let knowledge become action, and action be enlightened by wisdom.”
Perhaps it is the lasting influence of the university’s value-based education—but those lines have unknowingly become the guiding philosophy of our work. The union of wisdom rooted in the soil and conscious application of technology marks the true beginning of a new era of cooperation.
